The refurbishment of Cairns' 5-star Flynn Hotel, formerly known as the Bellview Hotel, will feature more than 300 rooms and suites, a day spa and 24 hour gym, three floors of urban street food style restaurants and bars, and a glass-sided swimming pool. Due to open in 2020 this precinct will be in keeping with Cairns Council's vision for a "City in a Garden" as the architects focus on integrating a strong landscape element.
SJA's Planning & Programming division developed a detailed delivery program and undertook monthly progress updates, to identify critical and near critical activities.
The team labour resourced construction activities and ensured the scope of works stayed within the program, including design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
A delay allowance was calculated and elemental durations were benchmarked against similar sector projects in Queensland.
