In November 2016 the SJA Project Management division was engaged by Australia's largest training and education provider, TAFE NSW, to undertake Project Management of the $7.6 million development of the South Western campus in Miller, NSW.
Briefing, concept design, detailed design, tender and construction through to completion, handover and relocation formed the basis of services for this largescale project.
SJA oversaw construction of a new specialist training centre at the state of the art Building and Construction Faculty, which now offers facilities designed to simulate real work situations and environments as a result of the redesign. Timber panelling, stained glass windows and painted ceiling rosettes also feature - skillfully restored by talented students, now given the opportunity to practically apply their skills.
A new loading dock and car park were also added, as well as a pole farm and bridgeworks area to continue the large-scale teaching requirements externally.
Four new classrooms and an open plan workshop area were also added, allowing for flexible learning activities and larger scale building activities.
